Golly Bard (Holly Ward Bimba) is a watercolor and gouache painter and creator of the neatest creature and nature artworks.  I think her style is so unique, particularly in that she’s not afraid to include things like swarms of flies around animals with closed eyes.  It’s a little bit macabre, but in a way that a wide variety of audiences can find appealing.  I especially love her specimen-like animals, complete with catalog labels.  Holly has a blog and a Flickr and an Etsy, from which these images come (you can buy prints and/or originals of the pieces shown here, as well as many others).  Also check her out on Spoonflower, where you can get fabric and wallpaper of her work!
