Whenever I see them, I am always intrigued by pictures in zoos and museums with taxidermy.  I think there is so much that can be said about the human relationship with animals in these places, and while my feelings about zoos are mixed, I can’t believe the amount of people who swarm to them every day of this season (especially on days like today).  Perhaps it’s easy for zoo-going audiences to see what they want to see, and easy for image-makers to see something else.

Something else I love: in museum photography, you almost unavoidably find “repeats” amongst photographers.  I’m thinking of Hiroshi Sugimoto‘s Dioramas series (in particular, see the image immediately below).  I have also made the same photograph as the last one shown here :)
