I first posted work by Erika Larsen a few years ago, shortly after I started blogging about artists whose work I admired and found inspirational. I remember finding her work being a turning point for me (have I ever talked about seeing that Shoot! the Blog post about artists who photographed animals? That whole post may have changed my life) and I have been keeping up with Erika’s beautiful photography since.
In her newest project, Erika explores the symbiotic relationship between Sámi reindeer herders and the environment, their existence in today’s world, and their ancestral roots. The series truly focuses on the lifestyle of the Sámi people and therefore features many more portraits than I am showing here. The project on the artist’s website currently contains 47 images; all are worth taking a look at.
