When I was visiting the National Aviary in Pittsburgh over Thanksgiving, I gained a renewed fascination with the absurdity of some wildlife enclosures and displays.  I’m looking forward to going through my pictures and giving the idea some more thought.  With that on my mind, I was excited to discover one of Elizabeth Shear’s photographs in the Flash Forward Festival catalogue and spend some time exploring more of her work.  Many of her pictures have me looking for a long time (especially the first one below, which reminds me of a Candida Höfer favorite).
