Within the animal/nature genre, my favorite photography is personal, cryptic, and somewhat inaccessible. I think there is so much room for symbolism and a strong but obscure message in this kind of image-making, and personally, I have always felt a special kind of fulfillment expressing myself this way. I really enjoy these images by Kristen Zellmer, which are accompanied by nondescript titles and no statement. All I know about the artist is that I saw one of her pictures in Shots Magazine’s Creatures issue earlier this year. Sometimes, I prefer looking at artwork this way.
